Chrysanthos Gounaris received a Spring 2005 E-Council "Excellence in Teaching Award" for the high quality of his work and his dedication as a TA for the Chemical Engineering Design course (CHE 442). The award was presented by undergraduates Anderson Shum '05, Paul Reiter '05, and Huan Zheng '05 at the award ceremony on March 30. Some excerpts from their award presentation: "Aside from scheduled weekly meetings with students, he was available to answer questions any time during the day, even moments before his PhD candidacy exam...Chrysanthos was more than a TA, he was a friend, a mentor and a magician; he had the ability to transform the heavy demands of the class to fun. His passion for chemical engineering was contagious and we wouldn’t have made it through the course without him."
