Stanislav Y. Shvartsman, assistant professor of Chemical Engineering and a faculty of the Institute for Integrative Genomics at Princeton, has been awarded the CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation (NSF). CAREER awards are the NSF's most prestigious awards for new faculty members. They recognize and support “early career-development activities of those teacher-scholars who are most likely to become the academic leaders of the 21st century.” The award will support research on pattern formation in epithelial tissues and the development of joint teaching initiatives between Princeton and the University of Puerto-Rico at Mayaguez.
