James Wei, Pomeroy and Betty Perry Smith Professor in Engineering Emeritus and Dean Emeritus of the School of Engineering and Applied Science, will receive an inaugural Pioneers of Diversity Award from the Minority Affairs Committee (MAC) of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE).  The award recognizes the “advocacy [Wei] provided in establishing the Minority Affairs Committee, and for driving AIChE’s efforts to advance inclusiveness in the Institute and the chemical engineering profession.”  The award will be presented in a ceremony on November 9, at the AIChE National Meeting in Salt Lake City, timed to coincide with MAC’s 25^th Anniversary Celebration.
