I'm interested in the energy space, primarily how energy/power can be provided at low cost to areas that are hampered by high prices or lack of reliability. Ultimately, it would be great to run an energy technology company that develops tools to solve the reliability and cost-effectiveness problems, which would be deployed in both energy-rich areas (like the US) and in developing countries that lack access to consistent energy sources.
How I Got to Princeton
I grew up an hour away from Princeton, and I wanted to go to a school that allowed me to pursue my interests in engineering and the humanities. I knew that I was interested in chemical engineering, but when I was visiting other schools, I found it off-putting that I could only choose a few of my interests instead of pursuing a small piece of all of them. Princeton's liberal arts model allows me to explore all of my academic interests, and it also has a number of extracurricular organizations that align with my hobbies. So, I knew Princeton was my number 1 school, and I was thrilled when I got in.

What I Like Most about Life in CBE
Being able to have classes with the same set of people for the last four years has been great, because we all know each other and we spend most of our time with each other outside of class. I have also really enjoyed the lab-based component, since we get to perform the experiments we talk about in class.
